What would ya'll recommend for a calendar module that is secure?

I had one before that turned into a security issue so I killed it.

Which one did you have before? There are several, each with advantages and disadvantages. What features are you looking for?

Before I used Event Calendar.

All I really need is a calendar that has a block with highlighted dates for events so you can click to get details and a way for registered users to submit an event for me to post.

NuCalendar can do that. It was last updated before 7.5, so the admin has to be changed, but someone developed a 7.5+ version.
