When I register as Dawg or Big_Dawg, once registration is complete my username changes to dawg or big_dawg

There is a regular expression somewhere that needs tweaking.

Is this some security thing that I am not aware of? Is there some other advantage of having everyone using lowercase names?

Not security - Preference. Names like NeCRomAncEr (just an example) make me crazy. You can always alter the one or two lines of code Smile

Should we make it a configuration switch? I personally prefer to give my customers the opportunity to use whatever they wish for a user name, within reason of course... just suggesting...

Or, maybe a note in a readme or HowToInstall or maybe a Sticky once the release comes out.

I hate the thought of more configuration Laughing. For me, I thin something in the HowToInstall would be sufficient.

Ya....that is fine. Change XXXX to YYYY.

It will be one of the first things I do....I just think it makes it alot easier to read.

Oh what the hey! I added a configuration setting

/*********************************************************************************
/* Force username to lowercase only
**********************************************************************************/
$forceLowerCaseUserName = TRUE; //Setting this to FALSE will leave usernames as enteres.

Big_Dawg,

I have it set to false if you want to test it Smile
