Does anyone know if something like this exists? Essentially, I'd like my Web Links module to be viewable by everyone but only allow new link submissions to registered members?
The reason for this is to help keep the bots at bay but to allow everyone to see the directory.
Thanks. |

There are a couple of enhanced web links modules, but I'm not sure if they have that capability. Have you seen any others? If not, or if they do not have this capability, I don't think it would be difficult to add. |

Isn't there an option to set in modules/Web_Links/l_config.php ? |

I'll have to look into it and see, thanks.
I'm currently using the default web_links module that comes with ravens distro but I'll admit, I've never actually looked over the files contained within. |

Well I checked the l_config.php and guess what I found:
# $links_anonaddlinklock: Lock Unregistered users from Suggesting New Links? (0=Yes 1=No)
Sorry guys, it looks like I'm just a big idiot.
Thanks for the quick replies though.

That's one of those things that should be set in the admin settings / preferences, rather than having to modify a file... |

Right, modular admin script preferences too. That should be a part of the admin system |

Or you could just add a disclaimer to your HowToInstall index file telling idiots like me to look at the modular config. files prior to posting our dumb@ss questions. |
