IT exam preps ?

how good are [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] exam preps for Microsoft and cisco exams ? . anyone have any info about this , then plz let me know . iam trying to shift from auto field to IT field and need some solid guidance

Before you compare alternatives for exam preps, have you considered the value of passing the exams? Is it really necessary to be certified by passing a test?

After 20+ years of IT work, I'd suggest being certified by your users / customers is the only valuable certification. It's not difficult to get knowledge with the easy availability of information on the Internet, and there are lots of companies (large and small, public and private, for-profit and not) looking for people who can spell TCPIP and know what it means (i.e. the barriers to entry to the IT market are low).

Generally it is experience more than certifications these days. I would suggest getting on some projects, even open-source ones. As long as you have code to show for it, it would add to your experience
