I downloaded Ravens module block from this site and although a good block, it is showing all active modules which I don't really want.

Can this block be modified so I can edit the block file itself and add my own links ?

I suppose what I want really is a block-dropdownlist.php with editable fields

If you don't want them to show just make them invisible. You can do that in your admin modules menu. All users can still access them, but they are not in the menu.
