CSS: Limit image-width in Forum-posts

nerelax is currently the man.

Since you are the man, how about setting up these forums to auto-resize images down to a manageable size so I don't need a 40 inch monitor to see the entire post. This is not sarcasm, but an actual request because I am too lazy to scroll to the right. Thanks.

Doulos, open the style.css of your used theme and add this at the end of the file:

You can change the value: 500px to what do you need.

Doulos, as I posted before, it works in Firefox, Chrome, IE 11, Edge... Which browser you are using?

I have tried Firefox and Opera, and IE (win7). I think it is only linked pics. Here is a screenshot - full screen on a 24" monitor. Forum would not let me attach it (upload error)

I splitted the issue-related posts into a new thread.

It seems this is an local issue on your end. Try to clear the browser-cache. I tested also with my macbook and my android-tablet - all images are looking fine.

The error while uploading an image is a known issue but it doesn't depend this thread. I will fix it asap.

I changed from fisubice to RavenIce and it works correctly. I guess I should have mentioned what theme I was using. Still now resizing in fisubice after clearing cache, though. I'll just switch to RavenIce since that is what I use on my own website.

Just to see if it is resizing images here I have attached the image I am trying to post in my forums using RavenIce theme. And as you may see (if you are using RavenIce) it does not resize it here either.

Why do not use a simple script?

In viewtopic_body.tpl you can resize your images with a simple Thumbnail-Mod with PopUp function.

It shows all your images in 600px (you can change the width in every sizes).
But i don't know if it works in Ravennuke too.

Hi Doulos and Coldy, thanks for the report. Here is a simple css-based solution, without to add so many lines of Javascript. Open the style.css of the affected theme and add it at the end of the file:

This is for phpBB3, so it would need to be modified for phpBB 2 / RN forums modules.

Also, this requires ImageMagick and php exec functions, which may not be supported on RN installations.
