You can use every PHP-Nuke theme with some minor changes after comparing the theme.php with a theme from the core-package. Same procedure... localhost, local installation, enabled error reporting, code editor.

For RN25x is no future development scheduled - only fixes for the core-packages. The new CMS (alpha-status) is different from what you know with another theme-system based on Bootstrap4, different code-base etc. But it will have an import-option of the RN25x database tables.
