How does this "old articles" block function? In my preferences I set 6 stories to show in the home page, then the rest (up to 30) are supposed to appear in old articles but it doesn't seem to be functioning.

old articles is only a block, not a module. It searches the database for an older news story to display the title of. The older articles are in the news module and stories archive modules.. You have pagination to view older stories in the news module.
