User Info Block and IP lookup service

Noticed that dnsstuff.com recently required paid membership for it's IP lookup service, which is used in modal links within the user info block. Did some looking around and the selection of IP lookup services is pretty bad. Most are ad driven, many to the point where it is hard to even see the IP details amongst all the ads... Sad

[ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] is about the best I have found, anyone know of other/better services?
btw, not all sites can be opened as a modal, depending on their configuration.

For those who want to try infosniper, in block-User_Info.php, change to:
$whoisServerString = 'www.infosniper.net/index.php?ip_address='; //admin ip lookup

For IP's the main service I use is [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] but they use a third party provider themselves [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] IP lookup can be performed with [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

For domain look ups, I use [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] - great site for also checking your servers DNS config etc as well

spasticdonkey, I hadn't seen that site before. Wow... kind-of eery. The only thing wrong on it was my area code.

Guardian2003, thanks for that, whois.domaintools.com is clean looking with no ads, wow. I can verify it works within a modal as well, so for those who prefer:

$whoisServerString = 'whois.domaintools.com/'; //admin ip lookup

montego, yes the Geo-location by IP kinda fun and a little scary too.

Hmmm. I had an agreement with dnsstuff that they would allow lookups from my site. I wonder what happened. In any even, please open a Mantis issue on this. Thanks!
