Question to ID`s of different Modules

Hi first I am not sure if this are issues, but at least open question to the Weblinks and other modules.

1. if I call a not more existing link with FF i got Access denied and with IE i am redirected to the index, in my testscenario i use lid 9999 which is not existing

is this a normal behavior or just wrong on my testsite?

2. why shows all the calls like

/modules.php?name=Web_Links&l_op=viewlinkeditorial&lid=9999
/modules.php?name=Web_Links&l_op=viewlinkdetails&lid=9999
/modules.php?name=Web_Links&l_op=outsidelinksetup&lid=9999

the corresponding content if the link dosent exist?

BTW I tested now other Modules like Encyclopedia, News, Surveys, Topics

so for me it seems it is unlike handled within the modules and as I see in different Variations
a) redirect to index (like news)
b) it shows up some corresponding content (weblinks, Survey, topics)
c) it gives an output more less that the ID is not existing ( Encyclopedia)
d) forward to 404 (feeds)

i didnt testet any more module, so i cant say if there are more variations

of course some one will ask why should someone call not existing ID`s, but on the other hand after a long time running there are of course ID`s deleted during the time and possible at the Searchengine indexes which can be used....

so i think it should be handled equal if possible, just my 2 cent

Why not just create your own custom 404 page with a search on it? =/

I agree there isn't a consistent usage for bad inputs, but I don't think its anything that is a priority right now

yes i belive there are much more topics with higher priority as consistent bad input handling, i just mentioned it..
