gfx not showing in new regs

probably already handled, but cannot find it.

When activating the $gfx_chk =3; (6 also) in config.php

the code does not appear in the new registration box.
tried the standard fisubice theme and several others.

This is nessecary because of some automated spambots registering en spamming the forum with viagra.
wonder how they handle the activation email.
within seconds they are registered and start spamming.

(somehow sentinel does not block these.)

Are you sure you are using RN2.3?
I have to ask as one thing we have been keen to do is stop this automated registration nonesense as it is a real pain.

The CAPTCHA should be on for registration by default so unless you have changed that....
What are your settings in 'Edit Users' - particularly worth checking if you have allowed user registration without email verification or turned off admin approval etc.

its sure that im using 2.3

but the problem is solved.

probably a corrupted download/upload.
after reuploading the files it was showing.

and the spammers stay out
