I am having trouble with my GFX check. tons of spammers seem to sign up for my site each day. Likely facilitated by the fact that my GFX doesn't seem to work. When I enable it in config, no image is displayed where the code should be. Am I missing a module or something?

It looks like GD 2 is installed, since that's what my coppermine mod uses.

Thanks

should add that I will definitely upgrade to the new RN, but probably not for another month or so until I get a solid weekend to do it.

What setting are you using for the graphic image? Try using 7, if you haven't already.

You should also re-upload your font files.
As an aside, Raven found some gremlins in phpBB's code which allowed comment spammers in which is fixed in RN 2.20.0
phpBB also fixed this issue (in a slightly different way) in the forums 2.0.23 patch release

i have tried a number of settings. I set it to 3 just to start with the user registration only. The problem though is that the graphic just doesn't show up. I get a "missing picture" image

I noticed that it is looking for this image: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

I don't have a gfx folder in modules ... could that be it?

Actually it is passing no module name there. mainfile.php should have the code to process the gfx request

I have seen that link before and I do think it should process as well. I know that you may have already gone through all the things that this normally is, but to be quite honest, there aren't too many to run through. Your PHP must have been compiled to use the GD libraries (your host should know what this means). Once you move to RavenNuke, the GD libraries would also need to have been compiled to include FreeType support. (These things are all documented in several different threads.)

OR, you might want to consider moving your site to Raven's web hosting services as you would be 100% certain that his servers will support RavenNuke!
