Medals count = number of trades

I have a block that is simple HTML at the moment. As trades are made on my site I manually update the count. However, we have a medal for these trades.

I was thinking there should be a way to query the medal count and the block automatically update the count. However, I would also still like to be able to list the traders in the block (currently done via manual HTML). However, it would also be GREAT to have member names added to the trader listing based on the members in the usergroup specified.

I am sure this is possible, but can anyone point me in the right direction? I am using Nuke 8.0.
