Have updated site from RN 2.0.2 to latest version. Advertising banners are now showing up in a right hand block as before, using the new system. For some reason the animated gif versions won't run, I just get the first image showing no matter how often I refresh the page.

Any ideas.

Can you view the animation by loading the image directly in your browser?

Have checked the files on the website in a browser and they don't seem to be working. But they do on my computer. I have used FireZilla and Dreamweaver and also Beyond Compare 2 to FTP the files to the server again in binary mode, still no luck. I have also found that I can't upload images through the editor and that when you edit a file in the editor with images in it they don't seem to show up in the editor.

Could these all be linked. ??

Well have finally got back on the computer / site and still no animated gifs showing in the advertising block. Everything worked before with 2.02 but after upgrade to latest nothing, suppose I'll have to try flash instead.

There is an animated GIF in my banners and I am on 2.10.x, so I know that it works. Two are using the "Code" option and two others are using simple "Image". If you are using the "code" type of banner, make sure the code is XHTML compliant. In this case, make sure the image tag looks like this:

Code:

<a href="give the click link here" target="_blank" title="Give it a good title"><img src="give the URL of the image here" width="468" height="60" alt="Give it a good title" /></a>

Use the image's proper width and height values, make sure the attributes are quoted as shown, and don't forget the / in the ending > of the img tag.

Hope this works.

Have just spent three evenings trying to sort this out. I'm using plain image links in the Advertising banner and no matter what I do they still won't display in the site in either Firefox or IE (they will work in both if opened directly from the folder.

My main concern now is that since I went live with the site upgrade on the server and allowed nukesentinel to let people use the site the captcha graphic has vanished over a number of days, first reverted to the old style size graphic but with letters and now just the background white and black lined graphic with no numbers or letters.

See site at [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

Advertising block on top right of page !!

I have uploaded the fonts and other captcha files again from the origional raven directory, but still nothing. The captcha is also not consistant across all modules for which its marked as active in the rnconfig file.

Could these two problems be linked.

Ok Montego have managed to sort out the animated gif problem, a setting had some how been changed on my ZoneAlarm Security Firewall to block animated Ad banners.

The problem with the captcha missing is definitely a server / website problem as other people can't see it which means no one can sign into the site and neither can I as admin.

I don't want to have to resort to a complete reinstall if there is an easy way.

j4rdin, unfortunately, since it sounds like you have mucked around quite a bit with the whole captcha thing, I don't know what to tell you. It might have been better to try and get the original RN version working. I wonder if your host needs to update the GD Libraries. These are what are used for generating the captchas.

You might want to read up on it here:

All the captcha files have been uploaded from the origional RavenNuke_v2.10.01 install directory. The original RavenNuke version was v2.02 and everything worked fine, until the upgrade to v2.10.01. I have read through all the various posts on this problem on the forum and also checked that GD and TruType are installed on the server and phpinfo.php reports they are installed. I have uploaded the font files again using binary mode on Filezilla and also checked the various config files for extra blank lines after ?> with TextPad so far no luck.

What changes if any were made to the database in the upgrade which might impact on the captcha if they didn't implement correctly.

Sorry montego about this but its driving me nuts. Evil or Very Mad

I don't know what to tell you. You might want to "ping" technocrat on this one as the captcha came from him from NukeEvo.

Select Main Tab.....>

Under Ad Blocking select Custom...>

Under Ads to Block remove tick in Animation box.

No problem. This is good to know. I am so used to turning off ads altogether, that I didn't even know there was an option to leave them on, but turn off animation. Cool. Thx.
