partial results on search

So here's something that doesn't make much sense...talking about partial search results and no results at all [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
and this without the "zipped" [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
no matches found...?

a fix for this anyone? ideas?

What are you looking for? You should be able to use the standard download screens to find pretty much anything without doing searches.

In the first result 'in' and 'format' are separated by 'zipped'. In the second search 'zipped' is removed and therefore the words don't appear in that arrangement and therefore a search is not returned.

Yeah, unfortunately the search function is not written to work like the traditional search engines. It is treating the search criteria as the following:

"in zipped format"

"in format"

It isn't really a bug per se, but how it is designed. One could probably take the input string, chunk it out based upon the spaces or replace the spaces with the "%" sign.

There is definitely room for improvement where search is concerned and we had talked about msearch potentially down the road. Might be time to look again at that. I think kguske still has that available from his site.
