path to mysql files

All I have are the .frm, .MYD, and .MYI files for the database I'm trying to restore.

I thought the path would be /var/lib/mysql/databasename and that is where I put all these files.
However, when I open phpmyadmin, although the tables are there, I'm getting "can't find file" errors when I try to export a table.

Also, since I'm uploading and unzipping these files using the shell, I guessed at chowning and chmodding ... chown I think is ok, but what should chmod be? I set it at 700. Is this ok?

I got it. I set up another smaller db and imported it's tables and then see what plesk had to say about that.

For my other big db I had the chown wrong... on my system it should be mysql:mysql
And the files need to be chmod 660.
