Web host has killed sendmail

My site has been cooking along nicely for some time now. All of a sudden people who are registering are getting this error. "Warning: mail(): Could not execute mail delivery program "

Obviously my host has changed something.

What do I have to ask them to do to fix it?

What do I have to do to get around the problem if they refuse to fix it?

Please note that I can't change the host because I have to use the one that the "School Approved".

It sounds like they've disabled the PHP mail function. As hitwalker suggested, you should have them confirm this. If so, you might want them to suggest alternatives as this is a pretty basic task.

There are SMTP addons for PHP-Nuke, but with registration, PMs, forums, and more sending messages, it's a pretty ugly task of replacing them.
