spell checker

is there a good spell checker that works in the forums for ravenuke 7.6 that when there posting a message they can spell check it not a linked one didnt see anything from searching

I've seen a couple that work with WYSIWYG editors, but haven't seen anything for the forums. Wouldn't that be useful?

I have used one in the past but cannot remember where I got it from.
The problem I had with it was that because the db data was so large (around 20Mb if I remember correctly) the forums got really bogged down while it 'checked' the post for spelling errors.

Yeah, thats why I mentioned the slow-down affect.
The other disadvantage I had with it was that the number of 'word' lists were a little limited. The site I was using it on was dedicated to UK employees and as there were no british english language list I had to go through the entire thing changing a lot 'z' to 's' etc.

If I remember correctly, I ended up removing it and using an IE plug-in to do the spell checking and placed a link to it on my site so anyone else using IE could also get and use the spell checker plub-in.

The site no longer exists but a google search might be useful if it is of any interest to you.

phpbb2 comes with a spell checker, wish phpnukes forums did. Sad

Firefox will spell check whatever you type into a online form. I think that function is best suited to the browser.

I agree with Gremmie and Guardian - best suited for the browser.
