WebLinks Block with direct links

One of the things that has always driven me a little crazy about the Weblinks module/Block is that getting to the linked page or site is not easy for my newbie users.

1. See link in block. Click link, expecting that link to open.
2. Get sent to WebLinks module and find way too much complexity about rating the link. (ie: I haven't even seen the link page yet.)
3. Hunt for the actual link to the website.
4. Miss the link "Visit This Website" and send a nasty message to Sysop about the silliness of it all.

I'd like a block that displays 10 random links and when the link is clicked the user is actually sent to the link, not to the complexity of the Weblinks module.

Has anyone done this? If so, would you care to share the code? If not, is it possible?

So I just answered my own question ... Yes, it's possible and doing it was too easy!

Make a copy of block-WebLinks.php and call it something else, like block-VisitLinks.php
Then, in line 32 (the $content line) change the string viewlinkdetails to visit ...
Like this:

Now I'll figure out the random thing and I'll post the whole block when I do.

I have always hated that module... well, and the core nuke Downloads module, and the _____ and the _____ Laughing
