news won't work

for some reason I can't get the news to work at all, it won't let me put
any new news on the site at all with your 7.0 distro, can you help?

My distro is the standard nuke 7.0 code as far as the news is concerned. I haven't modified anything there so it should work out of the box. I did modify the comments.php file, but not the base index.php.

Did it ever work?
Is this a virgin install or are you trying to upgrade?
What kind of error are you receiving?
Have you looked in your php and/or server error logs to see if an error message is being thrown?
Have you tried a default theme like DeepBlue?
