Web Bug?

After installing my new firewall software, I've discovered that all of my phpNuke sites have something called a "web bug". Does Sentinel use a web bug to obtain ip addresses? Just trying to determine where it came from...

PHP-Nuke (as well as most other CMS/Portal software) tracks referrers and IP addresses of every hit. This is also the normal monitoring practice and process of the server itself, as well as for any software that resides on that server that includes any type of login system (as well as referrer/access monitoring)

NukeSentinel further monitors IP addresses to ensure access compliance with banned IP tables, permissions, etc...

As for the term "Web Bug" that's pretty general, so I must refrain from making any assumptions about what your firewall software is actually describing. Your best bet is to check the website of the firewall software company in question to find out exactly what that term means (to them) and to investigate with them implications of that discovery.
