Hello, I have just installed shoutbox 8.5.2 on a new install of RavenNuke.
It seems to be working fine except when I send a shout I just get a white line across the shout box. It scrolls fine but I just can't see the shout because of the white line.
Also if I go into the shoutbox admin area all the places to add text are white. Really strange problem, I was hoping someone else had this problem and figured out how to fix it.
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Go into the shout admin section then click on the themeing settings delete all the codes out like #EBEBEB in the line for your theme then save the settings you should be good to go

Well I am not sure where the themeing settings are located, can you tell me? I don't see any thing like that in the admin section.

Is this what I am looking for and if so how should it look after I make the changes you suggest?

Code:
            $sql = "INSERT INTO ".$prefix."_shoutbox_themes (themeName, blockColor1, blockColor2, border, menuColor1, menuColor2) VALUES ('$themelist[$i]','#000000','#212121','#000000','#101010','#212121..6')";

            $db->sql_query($sql);

Thanks for your help.

Log in the Administration of PHP-Nuke - admin.php

Click there on Shoutbox icon and you will find it.

Are the background colors the same as the font colors of the shout? Maybe they are there and blend in?

From troubleshooter.txt

Problem: Shout Box doesn't scroll or work

Check:
-No shouts in database. Try posting one.
-Check shout history for any shouts. If none present, try posting a shout.
-Disable any Source Code Encryption (some themes have this, some dont).
-Javascript is disabled in your browser. Re-enable it.
-Make sure shoutbox.js is in your nuke root (directory mainfile.php is in).
-Check for shoutbox SQL tables in phpMyadmin and see if they exist.
-Check permissions: files should be 644 and directories should be 755.
-A second block on the site uses javascript. See install.txt section 8.
-If you are loading images from another site like a paypal donate image, host the image locally. The shout box won't start scrolling until the page is fully loaded.

I am running latest version of RaveNuke and the shoutbox nistalled fine and is running fine everywhere but the home page. We cannot see the text at all?

Ive checked the theme colours in admin section and they are ok but still no text shows, yet if you click shout history it shows there ^^

Any ideas please as i cannot gind a shoutbox to work at all with raven nuke?

I guess it might be this:
-A second block on the site uses javascript.
See install.txt section 8.

I dont recommend this addon to anybody. it's been a pain in the ass with other javascript blocks and everytime you install a new block which contains javascript then you need to modify shoubox.js. I got rid of shoutbox addon.

You can use Live Chat module which has blocks too and it is really nice. I suggest to make this addon again with ajax instead of the old javascript code. Shocked
