Recently I updated a website from RN2.02.02 to RN2.20.01.

On RN2.02.02 version I had installed a ported version of AttachMod v2.3.14.
The update to RN2.20.01 went almost flawless, some custom made modules and blocks required altering the files. But in the end I was content. The update was done on a backup of a database and files and tested for 4 weeks on my local server. I didn't encounter problems. In those four weeks I used the new classes for use of the pagination. After looking closely on the code I succeeded to implement the classes into another custom module. Excellent work, Montego.

The problem I have currently, after updating the live site, is related to the AttachMod. There aren't any issues with the Mod itself. Upload/Download, managing through the forum admin, no problems at all. Though, when users download the Attached files, specially archives as .zip/.rar/.gz and extracting the files on their local computer they receive a warning:
- Unexpected end of archive, or
- The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

With direct access to the file directory I downloaded the same file, extracted it, and no problems.
I conclude that the AttachMod is not the problem here. Neither I did change any of the server variables (Windows 2003 server, with Xampp package on) that could have caused this. But, I can be wrong.

Questions:
Is there something changed in the files that could affect the archives? I have found the FileEtag None in .htaccess. I understand after reading what the FileEtag is supposed to do, but could it affect the zip and rar archives? I've deleted this line of code from the .htaccess file, but without any difference when downloading Attachments.
Could the caching be the cause of the error warnings?

Did I miss any option that could have any effect on .zip and .rar attachments?

TIA
BL

Unfortunately outside of my area of experience (I also do not use the mod - sorry). Anyone else experiencing this?

I cannot duplicate this, maybe because I'm not running on Windows?

First, this topic should be moved within this forum

This problem is getting quite annoying and further investigation learned the CRC is empty on downloaded (text)files. Using WinRAR and using the Rebuild function within that program it calculates the right CRC value and now the package, either .rar or .zip, can be used/extracted.

I have the live site running on Windows2003 server with Xampp package and I've created a copy of the live website at a Linux install on a complete different domain.

As suggested in this topic I'll post both system specs:

Live
OS: Windows 2003 server
Webserver: Apache
DB server: MySQL 4.1.14
PHP: 4.3.9

Copy
OS: Linux
Webserver: Apache 1.3.41
DB server: MySQL 4.1.22
PHP: 4.4.8

The possible solution to uncomment the ob_end_clean function did not resolve the problem on both systems.

If there is any more info needed for your internal bug tracker let me know. I also could give Raven or evaders99 or anyone else closely involved to Ravenphpscripts.com and willing to solve this issue full ftp access to the copy.

It's never to late to ask a possible stupid question...
What's a CRC?
I've just installed this mod. And I like it. Smile And my users are gonna love it.

2.20.01 comes with the attachment mod 2.4.5 in the AddOnFiles/attachment_mod folder. Use those files and or directions....

Correct slick_303. Those files are in use. I'm pretty sure as I've completely rebuild the website in a test environment using 2.20.01 files only, not one file is in use from v2.02.02!
