Hello. I searched for this topic but could find no one else having the same problem - so here I am, and I hope someone can help.

I am using RavenNuke76 (which I downloaded from the front page of this site), and I am having a problem importing a smiley pack.

I created a .pak file using notepad (triple-checked my format to be sure it is correct), made sure I had all the .gif files named in the .pak file, uploaded the .pak and .gif files to the smiles folder and followed the instructions for importing smilies.

I selected "Delete existing smilies before import" (I want to replace the entire set), and "Replace existing smiley" where it asks what I want to do in case of conflicts. I clicked on "Import Smiley Pack", and it said it was successful.

But when I return to Smiley Admin (or the forums) no smilies appear.

Now when I click on "Add New Smiley", my graphics show up on the drop-down, and it lets me add each one individually ... but I thought importing a Smiley Pack was supposed to add them for me.

Is this a bug, or did I do something wrong? Or am I misunderstanding how the import works? Thanks for your help!

please try this pack. Remove the other that you had added first to be sure that there are no conflicts. I would just make a folder in your root called mysmiles or something and move yours there.

try this smiley pack and see if it gives the same trouble. If this one works, it is not a bug but rather an issue with your pak.

Thanks Jaded. It must have been something to do with my pak but for the life of me I dont know what.

It seems as if any .pak file that starts with the word "smile" will not work. I changed the name of my .pak file and it worked.

Go figure!
