Not start a rant/rave here but raven did you buy a commercial license of MySQL ?
Someone said he couldn't upgrade to MySQL 4 due to license issues.
I've figured it out a bit and posted it here [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

Either way:

if one of your clients hosts a commercial version of php-nuke ($300 copyright removal)
Or any other commercial app that uses MySQL, you must have a commercial mysql license.

It's just a head-up to keep everybody informed Wink

PHP Nuke is not commercial, regardless of what FB says. It is GPL and always will be until he revokes it. You cannot have 2 licenses on the same code as per the OS legal beagles. And I don't host a "commercial" version anyway.

The Commercial License, which allows you to provide commercial software licenses to your customers or distribute MySQL-based applications within your organization. This is for organizations that do not want to release the source code for their applications as open source / free software; in other words they do not want to comply with the GNU General Public License (GPL). For more detail on the Commercial non-GPL License, click here. Or, if you want more information on pricing, click here.

Nuke source code is released under GPL.
