I just finished installing Nuke 7.6 Patched, and I've noticed that I cannot set my forum permissions (moderators). I choose the user I want to make a Mod, choose which Forums I want him to moderate, and the click submit. It tells me "Permissions have been updated", but the user still does not appear to be a moderator.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jeff

Yes, I've already upgraded the forum using the BBtoNuke file.

Thanks,

Hmm, I didn't give enough information in the first post, I'm sorry.

I had Nuke 7.5 installed with phpbb 2.0.8. After the Santy worm came out, I upgraded to phpbb 2.0.11. (2.0.8-2.0.9, 2.0.9-2.0.10, etc)

I also upgraded to Nuke 7.6. So I'm not really sure what's causing the problem.

Sorry again,
Jeff

You just need to use the fixgroups script wandering around... this is a very common problem, because Nuke registration doesn't correctly create a default group for a new user. If the user isn't in his/her own group, they cannot be modified to become a Mod. Use the fixgroups script... upload it to your modules/Forums folder, and execute it with (off the top of my head)

That will repair all your users who don't have a valid permission group, and then you can successfully create a Moderator

PHrEEk,

I've seen several references to the fixgroups.php script, but no link or code!

Can you guys tell me what this script does and why the forums got messed up in the first place?

I ran it and I got lots of "messages" regarding users not assigned to a group - but what group(s) are they talking about...

Any help is appreciated.
