Do search engines typically look for ports other that 80? I have a server set up which only runs test sites, plus one site for live game stats. I have set up the server so a few others can access it using port 8080. I am trying to limit the web access to this server to a few specific people to keep bandwidth down.

It's always been my understanding that (at least) Google indexes the url regardless of the port. So a url like [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] will get indexed. But if I Googled "somedomain" and I saw a very non-standard port, the chances are slim-to-none that I would click on it. But that's jmo Wink
