I must admit i suck @ php coding.
However i ported the newest oscommerce 3 alpha 5 to ravennuke as some of you might noticed.
but.... i have some issue's with it going over my head.
Most of them are related couse of php 5x.

-Getting dynamic titles from the oscommerce pages.
-Fix the breadcumb trail (sepperate it from oscommerce pages so it work in al nuke pages)

or just read the todo HERE

Progress made

To bad no one is interested to contribute to this project, what is made available to php-nuke community for almost 8 years.

Only one thing is left to make it RavenNuke compatible , and that is the captcha issue.

I agree OSC2NUKE is a great project. Putting it out as a RavenNuke stamped compatible add-on should only help to generate interest.

I used TWE commerce for the last big project I did. But its development is slow and if I were to do another site I'd be very interested in using osc2nuke in RavenNuke. Under RavenNuke I'd have more faith in the integrity and security then under PHP-Nuke. (OFF TOPIC: But I did like using smarty as the template engine.)

I also agree the migration towards PHP5/6 is going to be a bit of a learning curve for us. But should result in safer websites in the end.

wHiTeHaT the task you took on is huge. I've used both programs and share your frustrations.
There is the PHP way of doing things.
The oscCommerce way of doing things with PHP.
The PHP-Nuke way of doing things with PHP.
Now extensively RavenNuke is truly another way of doing it again.

Like nuken I don't have much time to contribute but please continue and we'll do what we can. The opportunity to use and customize OSC2NUKE should interest us all who wish to sell products/services to the public and clients. The scalability is just awesome.

I did a little spelunking around. Wound up at the github for the OScommerce project. It is a little concerning to me that there don't seem to be any updates since March 2009. Is this still an active project? I can see from the listings and links here that Whitehat is working on it for RN and that's great but I'm also wondering about the underlying project and whether that is still being worked on and/or supported. Also, the alpha 5 lists the availability of MYSQLi as a requirement. Is that true? We don't require it for RN.

Dont get paranoïd , they take theire time.

And yes it is true ,MYSQLi is a php extension.
As mentioned in the installation php5x is required to run this module.

[BTW; can some admin fix the link in the news article THANKS
and peep here , install this module on one of your test site's and report me back on the osc2nuke forum ,getting lonely there lol]

Paranoia it's not. Time is the one irreplaceable asset we have. I support a couple of paypal modules for different sites that I've coded more or less from scratch but I'd love to find a general purpose one that really works. I've gone down a couple of dead ends in the last year or two ... Zencart and a module a year ago that purported to work with RN but was filled with bugs. It's important to be skeptical to avoid going down further dead ends. When I see something like a repository or github where there have been no updates in almost a year ... well it raises questions. Maybe the developers are using some other repository tool and just not mentioning it. Maybe they've moved on to other things. Before I jump on any bandwagons I'd like to be sure it has four wheels and a driver.
