Tuning my dsl speed was my passion for a very long time.
I could spent hours day with this its very interesting but sometimes I believe it doesn´t matter what you do you can´t get more because of different facotrs like hardware, software etc. or you reach a high download but then the upload is too low or the connection is just not stable enough.

I´m looking for some good tools to optimize my speed cause I need more Smile
11.983 kbit/s is my download but I should be able to reach 16.000
I would be happy with 14.000 too Smile but I didn´t reached that.

Currently I´m using TCP Optimizer but I´m not so happy with this.
Maybe I will uninstall TCP and make my changes directly within the registry.

Thanks.
From the test result: All is looking good. But Download is still 12.122 kbit/s .
So RWIN is not the only thing to change.

75% of your rated speed does sound less than ideal. But depending on the overhead and noise in your line and so forth, it isn't terrible.

What kind of service are you using? 16 Kbits/s seems awfully slow for downloading.
My service is rated for 3000 Kbits/s download Smile
(Note this is Kilobits.. divide by 8 to get Kilobytes/s)

With 16.000 Kbit/s and upload with 800 Kbit/s but I believe my router is the problem.
At [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] my download speed is currently 9,436.08 kilobit/sec.

A better way to find out more is to analyze a modem or router with dmt tool.

You will find it at: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

But not every modem is supported.

9,436 Kbits/s seems like a much more reasonable number ..
Looks like I was reading it as a normal period (.) rather than as a place delimiter Smile

What is your router? How is your computer connected to it?
Can you connect your modem directly to your computer?

I´m using an older neatgear router with an extern switch.I could connect via USB but its only 1.0.
Many guys had problems with this router version but I got it working and I upgraded the firmware so its ADSl 2+ but its possible that the router limits my connection.

I just need to try another if I get the chance because my version isn´t supported by the DMT tool also the router menue is only in English available and thats sometimes a problem.

My general surf speed is okay and the upload speed also.
