Hi All!

In my PHP error file I am getting

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function: gen_old_gfx() in /public_html/modules/Your_Account/index.php on line 141

Line 141 looks like this:

Code:

    case 'gfx':
/*****[BEGIN]******************************************
 [ Base:    GFX Code                           v1.0.0 ]
 ******************************************************/
        gen_old_gfx();

I searched through the code and found no function gen_old_gfx() (which explains the error). My guess is that someone is building a query string in an attempt to exploit some old hole. I have Nuke Sentinel set to email me the blocked attempts, but I have not yet seen any blocked attempts with $op=gfx in the query string. (Could be sent via POST?)

I am trying to clean out the noise in my error_log, so I was thinking about either commenting this out or creating an dummy function, but I am hesitant because I don't want to screw anything else up.

All info is greatly appreciated.

regards,

jimmo

I agree with your findings. Looks like old deprecated code.

If you're handy with PHP, I'd write a function gen_old_gfx that would write to a textfile or MySQL table the IP and the query string. That way you could see what someone was trying to do. After writing out or storing the information, Header them back to index.php

You read my mind. That's exactly what I was planning on doing. Thanks for the reply.

jimmo, if your site is working fine using the new captcha in RN, then you should be able to comment out that code. Not sure what URL they are crafting to get that as this is the first I have heard about anyone having this error and we have had folks where the new captcha didn't work and it reverted back to the old.

Odd. Give commenting out a try. You can always put it right back.
