Recently I have been noticing a lot of "none" on the tracking menu of sentinel and after searching found out that it maybe my ip2c database so I downloaded the new one and try to import country by country.

The import was unsuccessful since I am running sentinel 2.1.2 on a nuke 6.5 - the error message was missing 'date' so I manually added that field and the upload was successful.

Here's my problem.

1. When I go to track ip page there are users with client ip = none
2. When I goto the actual forum copy the posters ip and run it against the ip2c on sentinel the ip is in the database.

What am I doing wrong here. Any help would be much appreciated.

is there any reason why your not upgrading sentinel totally ?
Or just un-install it and install the newest..,or even upgrade your site a bit...

Thank you for the quick response.

I finally found out what was wrong. The new IP's were in the reserved range and once removed from there started showing up in the tracked page.

As for upgrading - which I should have done ages ago - can the new sentinel be installed on a 6.5 system?

I have been trying to update 6.5 for a long time but wondering whether it would cause me lot of trouble. I have made a load of minor modifications to allmost everything and don't have a log. With 444506 and 30000 members I am a little bit afraid to take bold steps.

In your opinion what's the worst that could happen?
