Auto Refrest for Recent Posts Block

Sorry if this has been posted. How would one go about adding an auto refresh for this block only while in "Show" mode erm whatever. Having to refresh the page and then scroll down and click show, eh well kinda sucks lol.

ooo and new posts might be different color? or image? from those that have been recently viewed or read.

That could be done using an iframe and javascript to issue the reload. A much better implementation would be to use AJAX to update the list automatically and asynchronously. Would be a cool project... wish I had time to work on it as I've never utilized the AJAX principles "in the real world".
