As far as release date we don't really have a timetable set at this point due to the large amount of work remaining. |
Might i suggest: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] |

No release date as yet I'm afraid but I know the Team is working as fast as their very limited free time allows.
Bearing in mind that RavenCMS is a complete re-write, there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel right now and we are continuing to cross off stuff from our issue tracker, enhancement list and roadmap.
You can follow along on Facebook [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] though I'll admit, we prefer to spend our free time developing the code than updating the social media side of things.
Although I'm not personally managing the project, I'm really hoping to see a release this year. The Team has worked hard and the community deserves to see what we have achieved - it's going to blow your socks off! |

Do you know what version of php it will be based on? I'm just curious and if phpbb3 will be integrated in the new ravennuke? |

PHP version 5.3 will be the minimum required (most hosting providers should already be using at least that version). RavenCMS(tm) will not have phpBB3 integrated. I don't personally think phpBB3 offers anything of added value over our current port of the last phpBB2 version, which has proven very stable (and definitely more secure than the state phpBB left it in). We are also moving toward a greater use of CSS styling for forum templates for greater flexibility.
We are however keenly aware that not everyone wants or uses forums, just as there are those that would prefer to use a completely different forum system. To that end, we have created our own user API to give greater flexibility in the future when it comes to integrating user registration/authentication etc with third party software such as phpBB3 should people want to go down that path. |

No we won't be adding phpbb3. Despite code improvements in phpbb3 it will never be integrated as phpbb2 is... which is why I still prefer phpbb2
Although we have several updates/enhancements forthcoming to phpbb2.
I have been developing in php 5.4.3 and would guess the minimum version to be 5.3 |

It is based on RavenNuke. The work done on the CMS stands on it's own and has not been influenced by anything done with phpnuke. Honestly, it is based on modern standards and has very little incommon with nuke at all. Modules and blocks will be able to work with it after a few modifications to them. RavenCMS is it's own CMS that tries to have some backwards compatibility with previous releases of RavenNuke. |

rave199, phpnuke 8.x was really bad s**t. Compare the code of RN25x, phpnuke 7.6 and phpnuke 8.x and you will see how big is the difference of RavenNuke to the big security holes like phpnuke. Nothing, really nothing was good on phpnuke 8.x! |

One other note. phpnuke 8.xx is years behind the current Ravennuke from a coding stand point. Raven CMS is light years ahead of anything done with nuke. Web standards have changed drastically in the last few years and phpnuke has not. |

I've been getting some good work done the past couple weeks (and months) but still alot to do, so difficult to say when it will be ready. Anxious to share the updated code, new features, etc....
I'm in the midst of a huge commit at this point, but after I get past this I'll see if I can find some time for some teasers/screenshots. |
