I have looked around and haven't found anyone say this can't be done, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it..

Anyone know of a way to have the google adsense actually considered a "banner" in the banner system?

To be sure I understand, do you mean like I do on mine?

Not quite. Yours is in a block (as far as I can tell). and not talking about the google search nor the adsense "button" you have at the bottom. I want it to be one of the "rotating" ones that I configure via the "banner" setup in admin. Like where the renshu magazine banner is (I assume it is part of the banner system).

edit: I just downloaded NSNBanner Ad for 7.6. But for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the scripted one to work. Should this work with google adsense??

I have a banner rotating ad. Refresh the screen enough times and you should see it

The Advertising system in 7.8 will support the Google adsense code
Your themes will need to be changed to use the ads() function though

But I am using Raven's distro which is 7.6 Wink so maybe when he upgrades the distro to 7.8, I will be able to use it. but in the meantime, Raven, how do you get it to work??

I have no plans to upgrade to 7.8 as I don't recommend it, so don't hold your breath on that one Wink

I am using NSN Banner Clients so the setup isn't quite the same. You would have to enter the Google banner as you would any other banner but point the click event to a PHP/html file that would have the Google code in it. I haven't tried it, but it seems that it should work or at least be a guide to get you there.

hmm doesn't quite work by using the script in a x.php file as the click url. it just brings up a page with teh goolge image that you have to click again Sad

I have tried getting nsn click ads to work since it has a script option, but that doesn't seem to work either (ie I get no images shown even though I have said right side, have a block that is using teh rightside block code and pointing the click url to the same x.php with teh google adsense in it.

I must be either doing something wrong, or it just won't work like this.

Is this what you have in your x.php that click url points to?

Code:

<scri pt type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-12345678";
google_ad_width = 468;
google_ad_height = 60;
google_ad_format = "468x60_as_rimg";
google_cpa_choice = "CAAQq8WdzgEaCCQIMpsWzihvKNvD93M";
//--></scri pt>
<scrip t type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</scr ipt>

Mmm no, script generated ads will not track clicks. If that's what you want, it won't work.
