Specifically do not want it to be flash. Want images or text only.

Sorry, all the ones I have looked at are flash based.

Have you had a look around to see if you could use a jabascript type timepiece?

I decided to try to add one via Js myself. It was actually pretty easy..

I used this for my base:

http://www.hashemian.com/tools/javascript-countdown.htm

And created a block for it. I tried posting the block code but the forum system keeps complaining about html codes even though it is all enclosed in code blocks. So PM me if you want the block code..



Works great!!
