HTTP Auth Please Help

hello,

I am having a big problem getting the http auth to work properly. I have tried everthing I can think of. Would it be possible for someone to walk me through the process. My server is running on Apache. Everytime I try to do it I can't ever login and I set my password under Admin Auth. Also I looked at the user manual and it is really confusing to me when it comes to this step so that is of no help. Any guidance is much appreciated.
