Try retracing your installation. If you have followed the outlined steps it works flawlessly Wink If you're still having problems, just restore your original file/code and delete the column that was added to your storie's table using phpMyAdmin.

What I mean is to verify that you installed it as per the instructions. You don't want to drop the table unless you have a backup. Just drop the column that you added 'display_order', and restore your original index.php file and you should be at your original starting point.

I Tried everything ,only when i drop display_order and back up my files it works...i tried even that [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] but the problem is the same...i post the article and it doesn't appear anywhere.even in nuke_stories!
Any other idea to order my news or make the add-on works?
I'm quite desperate...i tried to change the date of articles(in phpMyAdmin>nuke_stories) but it doesn't work too:(

Check your server error_log to see if there is an error that can be traced.

There aren't any errors!There is Written "Last 300 Error Log Messages in reverse order:" But nothing is listed after that!

I have the same problem. Installed News Module hack v6.5 onto my Nuke 7.3 site and it seemed to work fine. Wa able to re order the news stories the way i wanted. Only now if i try to post a new story it doesn't work.

I can preview the story ok, add the story id number, but when i submit it, it doesn't appear Sad

As the other poster, i would really like to keep this hack because i need to be able to move stories back up to the top from time to time.

I installed it as per instructions. Is there a bug in the scipt somewhere ?

Not to my knowledge as I use it as well as hundreds of others. Have you applied any other changes to these files or or are they virgin 7.0 and 7.3 code? Matter of fact, (both of you) please send me your admin/modules/stories.php and modules/News/index.php with the changes APPLIED. ZIP them with a winblows zip program. Remind me in the email you send what the problem is and what version of nuke it applies to.

I think something must have gone wrong when i was uploading the table or scripts. Raven couldn't see anything wrong with the files I sent...as far as I know.

So am going to drop the table and start again. Will let you know if that works.

I'm just writin` you to ask you,is it possible the problem to appear ecause
of the modules/News/article.php there is the same row as in modules/News/index.php
?

Quote:

Actually the ROW 63 in modules/News/index.php
is the same as in modules/News/article.php and it looks like this:
Row 40: $sql = "select catid, aid, time, title, hometext, bodytext,
topic, informant, notes,
acomm, haspoll, pollID, score, ratings FROM ".$prefix."_stories where
sid='$sid'";

Do You Think if i Replace it with the one from the display_order module
Quote:
$sql = "SELECT sid, catid, aid, title, time, hometext, bodytext, comments, counter, topic, informant, notes, acomm, score, ratings, display_order FROM ".$prefix."_stories $qdb $querylang ORDER BY display_order DESC,sid DESC limit $storynum";
to the both files index.php and article.php it will star working???

Drop the display_order column from your table and reinstall the virgin News folder for your distribution.

I droped display_order column and just replace the row with the original one,and now everything's fine! But i just want to make the display_order module to work,that's why i'm askin` u to fix the problem!

But I don't have a problem to fix! It works fine for me and hundreds of others. You have a problem installing it. If you want me to install this on your site I will be happy to do so, but I do charge for that service.
