Anyone out there like this application enough to tell me why I can't log onto the nukepatched site with it on sourceforge? I can connect when I run csv.exe from a simple bat file or the command prompt. Most suredly I am dong something wrong in the setup but for the life of me I can't figure out what.

I got the list of module names via [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

I right-clicked in my folder (\htdocs), and selected "CVS Checkout". These are the values that I used for the different fields:

CVSROOT
Quote:
:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/nukepatched

Protocol:
Quote:
Password Server (:pserver:)

Server
Quote:
cvs.sourceforge.net

Repository Folder
Quote:
/cvsroot/nukepatched

User Name:

anonymous

Module:
Quote:
74patched

Here's a screenshot, too.

Hope that helps.

oprime2001 thanks much I'll give it a try again the trouble I seemed to have was with the password blank getting rejected. I ran the binary several time from the bat file an it worked so I don't think the server was being flooded or anything.

I must be missing something basic in the setup I'm gonna RTFM and see what I can come up with.

c:\Temp\TortoiseCVS make new module temp\: "C:\Program Files\TortoiseCVS\cvs.exe" "-q" "import" "-m" "" "74patched" "tcvs-vendor" "tcvs-release"
CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/nukepatched

cvs import: Empty password used - try 'cvs login' with a real password

cvs [server aborted]: "import" requires write access to the repository

Error, CVS operation failed

It looks like its trying to give dev credentials so the blank pass word fails with the import part there.

For a simple alternative here is the old way I do this on Windows.

Download the stable binary from [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
This one worked well on XP SP2 for me others didn't. [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
Extract cvs.exe
Drop it into C:/WINDOWS/system32

Then make a simple bat file like 75patched.bat with all the parameters in it.
Simple Example to grab the 75patched files:
cd /d D:\wamp\www\csvnuke\
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/nukepatched co 75patched
pause
cls;
exit;

Anytime you want to update from cvs just double click the bat file.

Bump I think after trying TortoiseCVS that it is a great tool but for most people its a little invasive with a typical install. Unless your really serious as in a student/developer or webmaster who maintains 10's of sites or softwares.

The ability to use it on a local disk makes it awesome for maintaining your own personal packages though.
