Benefits to using autoactivate mod

I am running 7.4 and considering adding the autoactivate mod since alot of people attempting to register have hotmail & Yahoo addresses and aren't getting the confirmation email. I am curious as to both the positives and negatives to using this mod.

Also, does Raven's 7.0 autoactivate mod work on 7.4 as well?

Chatserv posted a quick fix for using autoactivate for 7.4 that I am using and it works perfectly.

I guess the only real negative is that someone can use an email that is not valid and will return to you.

I like using it because with yahoo and msn if the client has spam filter enabled then your confirmation email will get blocked.

I have a very open web site. I don't care who registers and what they have to say. Free speech is the rule of thumb at [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
