Something other than RavenNuke hardly anyone will recommend here. The current available version RN251 works with php 5.4 and higher. But RN is since many years far away from the "old" Nuke. Only the Look&Feel shows like a Nuke. RN is a highly modded Nuke-Distro. It has costs many years to bring it on the standard that you will find in the current release, that is more than 3 years old. To convert an 10 years old module to the current version could costs more than 5 hours to rewrite every codeline to get on the standard of the current release. So please note, no one would have the time to convert a 10 years old CMS for you. This is a work for years. We all here waiting for the next release - RavenCMS. That means this is a complete new CMS to leave the old "Look&Feel" of Nuke behind us to get a modern CMS.

I'm working since many years with so many Nuke versions/distros but last 5 or 6 years i'm happy with RN and i modified all my modules step by step to RN and I created also new addons/modules on this standard. I had learned so much new things. The next release is for me also a new beginning - to leave old things behind myself. It's for me a big adventure to convert again all my custom coded stuff on the new version. But i think the RN Dev-Team will do a great job to create a new interface - much butter than overloaded systems like wordpress.

It's time to change! Wink

Making an old CMS work on newer versions of PHP would require editing almost every file in it. The amount of time and effort would not be worth it as it would still not be a modern CMS. Like Neralex said, it would take months, if not years of work to update code and test it all. It is not a simple fix.

Considering the on-going security issues which surround those CMS's it simply isn't worth the time.
The PHP mysql_x functions are also being removed from PHP (I think PHP version 5.6) so as has already been mentioned, almost every file would need changing.
That is one of the reasons we are writing a new CMS - if you have to change every line of code, you might as start with a clean slate.
