Caught an interesting tidbit about the theoretical future of web/network security using quantum/photon cryptography to encrypt data. Basically light will be sent via fiber optic cable which will have a photon signature that can be read like a security key.. In order to read the "photon" you must destroy it, so a network would instantly be alerted if/when it has been compromised.

Still some technical challenges with this but an interesting idea, and supposedly will take hackers a looooong time to even learn the basics of this technology; before they can even attempt to exploit it.

Since when aren't hackers the people who implement it and crackers the people who break it any more?
