what i want to do is have a media player in a block but it plays certain files at certain times.

ie.

file1.mp3 gets played Mon-Fri from 12:00 to 16:00 ET
file2.mp3 gets played Mon-Fri from 18:00 to 21:00 ET
else file3.mp3 plays.

trying to think of a good way to do this.

There is a block addon at phpnuke-clan.net that allows for scheduling when a block will be shown. You could use that mod and make 3 blocks scheduling what time you want which one up.... Here is the link to the mod made by Duck [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

kd8hho, I would just create a block how you want it with html. Then use php to determine the time and select your mp3 based on that.

That is a good suggestion and I am sure someone around here could help you with the timing (php and stuff).
