points module

first off sorry if this is in the wrong section.
right i am in need of the points system that you have in RN, i did install one but it was a forum mod and it doesnt do all the things i would like it to do, so if someone has it or know's where to get it from can you please post a link to it.

Thanks for moving this to the right place.

the module that raven nuke uses is the groups module? and the points are in with that module is that correct?

What module are you talking about? There's not such a points module in RavenNuke...
Maybe a link for the module you're willing for???

Ok this is the link when in the admin panel to the points module "admin.php?op=Groups" and all the files for it are in the admin folder of the root

admin/case/case.groups.php
admin/links/links.groups.php
admin/modules/groups.php

But i need the mod cause edits to the core files need to be made

As far as I know this came with nuke 7.6. Don't quote me on that. The only core edits that i can think of would be to individual modules so that users can accumulate points. Even if you could find a download for this I am not sure that the edits to certain modules would even be valid anymore. You would probably have to do a little development work on your own to make it work the way you want. To be honest I am not sure how many people actually use it in RN or even how well the system works.

If I was going to try and implement something like this i would probably eliminate the points groups admin module and just combine it with NSN groups.

i see what you are saying i will look through all the files in nuke l8er to see what would be involved in doing this mod and if i get it done i will be writing a read me for it lol. The points work really well in RN and they work even better with my shop mod which is one of the reasons i need them.

I just dont know why nuke-evolution took them out, i also use ravennuke on all my sites but on my latest site i needed a CMS with a better way to handle groups like evo has (which should be a must in the next release of RN), right i better get to it then i feel a long day ahead of me with this, i will let you know how i get on

What does EVO do differently other than possibly joining nuke groups from the forums? Just curious.

The Forum Cash mod can be used for awarding points exactly the same as the Group Points Mod in terms of forum related points functions so I would recommend using that mod instead of Group Points. Then if you want to add points to the front end it would only take a few functions to add to update the user points being used by the forum mod.

You prob have the cash mod installed already if you are using Shop Mod cause I believe it relies on cash mod. Just add a currency called points in Cash Mod and your users can start collecting points for forum posts etc.

Then you could file compare mainfile.php from a system that uses group points to see what you have to add to auto assign users to groups when their points reach a certain level.

the groups layout in my opinion is better cause like you say the joining off groups via forums, you can set how many posts a user need to gain access to that group you can assign a rank for that group, it works well with AUC you can set a group to be an initial group for user registrations, and in my opinion this is one option RN lacks no offence but the groups in RN needs revamping.

Duck the cash mod is not what i am looking for the mod would not do what i want it to do. and with the shop module i use it wouldnt work either i dont use the forums cash mod it is a module made by untergang and it works with the points aswell as with cash, yea i suppose it would not be hard to make the cash mod work with it but i really dont like the cash mod,
