i have to say i like both clueTip and boxover, and plan on using both
clueTip has many more options but the setup and use can be a little complicated compared to boxover.
somewhat off-topic, but here's a little something I've been working on that uses clueTip

still under construction, but it's mostly functional so play with it to see some new features
some may recognize the popular phpnuke block from which it's derived...
I plan on sharing it someday but still needs a good deal of work and currently relies on one script i can't redistribute... compliant though, full of css sprites, and no more marquee, hello jquery |

More RavenNuke bling is on the way - check it out here.
This uses the ColorBox jQuery plug-in included with RN 2.4.0, required by nukeNAV(tm), which is used by nukeSEO(tm) DH, and this tweak is based on the excellent FaceBox and Slimbox tweaks built by nuken from [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

What would you want to be in the BoxOver? |

I'm pretty sure using boxover w/ nukeNAV would make the submenus hard to use. I tried adding title tags and even those got in the way, obscuring your view of the menu items.. |

If I remember correctly, one of the reasons I picked clueTip is that it would work with the submenus, and even within another clueTip - a nested tooltip (anyone else seen Inception?). |
