Howdy all, long time no post.

I had something very strange happen the other day.
My number one download on my site just up and dissapeared on me.

The download catagory is still there but the actual download is gone.
The only thing that has changed since it was last downloaded was that i went from a shared IP address to a dedicated IP address.
For a while some things were missing like gifs and certain links but they all came back and the site is running fine. I was just wondering if anyone knew why this might have happend or if it has happend to them before.
Wink

Can you clarify what you mean by disappeared?

Is the link still there, but not working when you click it? If the file missing or renamed? I can't think of anything else that would cause the link not to work.

Yes, It not longer exists in my database or in the downloads section.
I had to recreate the download. The file is still on my web server but there was no link to the download in my downloads section until i added it back.

I was testing out some things that needed me to toggol 'safe mode' on and off in my php.ini, So i turned it off but in the interim i also had my provider switch me to a dedicated IP address. It took their DNS servers about 7 hours to sync everything with the new IP address and after that my top download had been totally delelted from my DB. I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it.

How ya been kguske. Smile

Busy...thanks!

Anyway, I can't see how changing the DNS would impact it, that's probably just a coincidence. My guess is that it was accidentally deleted (or intentionally deleted by someone who wasn't supposed to), or - less likely - the database or that table was restored to prior to the download being added.
