Are you trying to load the installSQL.php into phpMyAdmin?

If so, that's the issue. installSQL.php is to be executed directly, not loaded as SQL.

I believe that the issue is your mySQL version. It is VERY old. I would try it with 4.1.x as a minimum.

Montego is right. I experienced this problem before. It just that your MySQL 3.23.58 doesnt support or not recognize special sql character syntax such as `. If u look carefully, u will noticed that this character is `, not '. To solve this prob, u can edit the sql statement and manually load it into phpmyadmin (u definitely dont want to do this. Trust me.) or u can use this all-in-one package:

Easy PHP 1.8
- Apache 1.3.33
- PHP 4.3.10
- MySQL 4.1.9
- phpMyAdmin 2.6.1

You can download at:
