Ok so I renamed a few tables. After doing so the site does not call apon those tables as they should. I mean they should call $prefix _table_name right?(still learning)

Prefix being the name I changed.

Is there like a site refresh or something lol.
So I changed them all back.

I wanted to change the names because in the install file it said to do so (not sure why) and after I installed and tested, I added a lot of stuff to the database. Not wanting to do it all over again I thought I would just rename the tables?

edit: oh i just got an idea. what if i was to run the install again. Editing the installs sql file with the updated names (the names of the old database I have to the New ones I want now). Leaving the tables there.... Would that work? Idea

Assuming you renamed all the tables, and changed the $prefix values in config.php - your site should work.

ahhhhhhh! i didnt know that is where the prefix was defined. I just thought it would use whatever_table_name

Like the prefix would search the first name(whatever) before _table_name and use that lol.

hmmmm there wouldnt be another way to set a modules prefix different than nukes?

Changing the Prefix name, does that really do anything? or should I just stick with what I have.

thanks evader. I might im you some time and bug you hehe. Your message is always set to away

You would have to manually go in and change all the $prefix values used in the module files. It would take a good search and replace. Depending on the table, you may affect more than one module.

thanks. Ima just leave it how it is. I cant see myself spending that much time on it and getting it right lol. Ill end up messing it up then give up. Although today I did get a few things done, kinda. Smile

Normally ill go all day and end up back where i started. Sad

slowly ill get there.

For security reasons, I would go ahead and change the global prefix for all tables to something other than the default "nuke"
It will make it harder to do SQL injection attacks if they don't know the table name to change
