That's why I'm confused, I'm assuming they just mean change the 1 table to InnoDB but being unsure I thought I'd ask first.

And yes, I do optimize regularly, it's a very active site.

So when people contact me with the old invalid ip reason why they can't access the site and I need to delete a range are you saying these people shouldn't be on these ip's? because many are large isp' ...

It just took 27 attempts to even get the post to load instead of being redirected.

This isnt just happening here and it isnt always happening on nuke sites ...

Just truncate/empty the 4 stats tables. As to IP_tracking, my guess would be to truncate/empty that table also.

It's not actually me thats doing it, it is a friend of mine who has just got himself a dedicated server because his site outgrew a shared environment, so the option of asking the host is not an option ...

So I take it that the sql file needs to be located on the server.

Would it work if it is still tarred or does it need to be untarred?

Having always imported my databases manually via phpmyadmin I would like to know how I would go about importing a large db (approx 100mb) via ssh/telnet.

This is something I have no idea about and ...
