I am curious as to how you all prefer to read the posts here. Do you prefer Oldest to Newest (as it is right now, or Newest to Oldest? Please vote even if you add comments because I prefer to see the totals and then read the comments. Thanks!

I view them as newest to oldest now, so I'm confused. but that's how I prefer to view... newest @ the top |

To clarify, do you mean within a thread / topic? If so, the oldest appears first.
If you're looking at threads / topics in a forum, it makes sense to see the most recently updated threads first. |

Kevin, I believe each user can set their own. I'm talking, for example, just take the recent Spam topic. When you go into the topic the comments are listed oldest to newest. I'm just polling to see if the majority would rather see newest to oldest so that they can read the most recent comment first. |

Got to be oldest to newest comments within a topic, it's a natural flow surely.
I would be confused reading the newest post at the top.
But I'm getting old.  |

Definitely newest to oldest, but, I also have to say that my 99% use model is "View posts since last visit" and I hope that I don't miss anything in-between. |

Is it broken?
I think oldest to newest has a more natural flow to it (we have been trained to expect this over the years) but I have used blog sites where comments are displayed newest to oldest so personally, it doesn't bother me either way.
I think it is more important to be consistent in whichever method you use i.e. don't have forums using O-N and then have modules with comment capability doing N-O etc. |

Oldest -> Newest.
The newest posts often barely resemble (if at all) the topic of the original post. |

In menu: newest tittle at TOP; inside the thread; newest post at last (bottom) as it is nowadays. |

Oldest to newest gets my vote too. Some pruning might be in order also. Maybe get rid of everything pre-RN 2.3 and every thread that has not had a posting in 3 years. |

I've never used pruning before. When you prune, do you loses the article(s) or do they get archived somewhere? |

You lose topics. Don't do it...some of the old topics might ramble, but there's value in them still |

I have been locking those threads as I find them, but it's been at least a year, so I'll add this to my 'agenda' also. |

Oldest to newest: Would be nice to have a option link 'View Oldest' and/or 'View Newest' |
