Blocker Settings
String Filters:
Harvest Blocker:
UNION Blocker:
CLIKE Blocker:
SCRIPT Blocker:
AUTHORS Blocker:
These are the choices.. what is recommended?
Off Email Only Block & Email Block, Email, & Background Block, Email, & Popups
Also.. I have noticed that PCKiller is missing in this version... has it been removed?
Or where can I find it?
Thanks.. |

I asked the same question. PC Killer has become an individual setting on each blocker. It is the Pop-ups option. |

@Tank863
I have these settings on my website.....
String Filters: don't block (have no clue what that does)
Harvest Blocker: don't block (take to long to load my page)
UNION Blocker: block
CLIKE Blocker: block
SCRIPT Blocker: block
AUTHORS Blocker: block
I think they are still testing pc killer due to the false positive it was receiving with KAV. |

Of course PC Killer is still there, Choose popups in the Blocker Settings for each blocker. |

Background....what is that and are there any config settings for it?
And pop-ups.....with 1.10, there was an option to make it pop up once or unlimited........has this been done away with in 1.20? |

I think they are still testing pc killer due to the false positive it was receiving with KAV. | Pop-up no longer causes KAV to misrepresent the code. |

How do I do this? (is it in a config file or do I manually edit a file? As there is no option in the admin settings to change from single to unlimited pop-ups.....or am I missing it?)
And again, what is the "Background" option for? |

All in the admin configuration page for Sentinel. Background is 1 popup, popups are unlimited. |

Oh....okay. Background didn't make sense to me for the name of the "single" pop-up option and I didn't see it in the documentation.....again, thanks for the clarification. |

Hi Folks
Well, I finally got around to loading Sentinal today and discovered what everyone here is talking about. No help file. It looks like a lot of work went into this, but it would be real nice to have a file that show each admin setting and exactly what each option actually means or at least does.
I feel like I'm walking through a mine field without having at least a basic understanding of how each option settings will affect the server, the experience of my users and my ability to instantly/automatically ban users that would attempt to hack the site, while protecting it using the most affective methods.
Some documentation should go onto the "to do" list for sure.
In the meantime, I'll be playing with it. Pray for me and my server too!
Thanks
UPDATE: My sentinal "Sentinel(tm) Administration" is blank as there are no options or information on this page. If it is supposed to be blank, why have it since the Sentinal header is on every other page as well?
I have read everyone's help posts but it looks like they see different information than I do because I don't see any "Block" options. I have choices about email only, backgrounds, popups, etc.. but I have no idea what any of that means. When I select any option for Union Blocker and click save, it refreshed with the Union Blocker section being set to "Off" again.
It would be great to know how all of this works. Also, has the email issue with IP address issue been fixed or should I just set that to off and use a manual lookup process?
Thanks |

"Sentinel(tm) Administration" is supposed to be blank... as its just a link to the 'main' page for administration. Perhaps there will be something in the future? Who knows? |

Maybe if it said something like 'Back to Nuke Admin' it might not confuse people so much? |

I don't think it's a "Confusion" error as it is an unneccessary function. After all, if all of the configuration options are in teh Configuration Menu AND since the menu choices are in each menu, what is the point of having a menu item with no function?
Just seems like having the Admin.php menu link for Sentinal lead directly to Sentinal Configuration and eliminating the "Administration" function makes more sense. |
